Honda Racing UK - Oulton Park race report - Superbike class
Saturday’s opening 18-lap contest saw Ryan Vickers bring his Fireblade home in sixth position, having started seventh. Vickers recorded a best lap of 1:33.468 on his way to sixth. Jason O’Halloran also made strong progress through the field. Starting from 12th, the Australian climbed four positions to finish eighth, securing the most encouraging result for the Honda Racing UK pair all season.
Sunday’s shorter 12-lap second race delivered the team’s best combined finishing positions of the 2026 season so far.
Ryan continued his upward trajectory with an excellent ride to fourth, finishing just 3.665 seconds behind winner Kyle Ryde and narrowly missing out on a first podium of the season. Jason backed up his teammate with seventh, less than five seconds from the victory, giving Honda Racing UK fourth and seventh at the flag.
The final race of the weekend provided perhaps the most encouraging indication yet of the progress being made with Ryan Vickers and the Fireblade.
Starting fifth, Ryan was once again firmly involved at the sharp end. Importantly, as the 18-lap race developed he was able to race the motorcycle, making passes during the latter stages rather than hanging on to track position. He eventually crossed the line fourth, just 9.882 seconds behind winner Ryde, completing a consistent 6-4-4 weekend.
For Jason, the final race ended prematurely. After starting ninth, he completed eight laps before a technical issue forced him to retire from the contest. Despite the disappointment, his eighth and seventh-place finishes earlier in the weekend demonstrated another step forward.
Across the weekend, Ryan collected 38 championship points and now sits sixth in the standings with 149 points, while Jason added 17 points and occupies 15th with 66 points.

I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to deliver a result for me and the team in the last race, but I’m happy we made progress this weekend. Pre qualifying for Q2 was a good indication that we were going to have a better weekend and the two top ten results felt like exactly that. The team are working constantly to give me the best bike possible and we’ll all keep pushing at Thruxton for more progress and points.

That was a great weekend of racing. My first race result wasn’t easy to deliver, I got a good start and was where I needed to be in terms of position, but lost a little bit of tyre performance each lap and ended up having to just hold out for the flag. Race two felt a lot better for me. I was in podium contention until the tyre dropped away, fortunately I was able to hang on to fourth over the line. It felt good to see P3 on my board for more than just a lap, we’re pushing so hard to deliver these results, it’s a positive to feel the progress coming almost lap by lap.The final race was great fun. I raced hard to hold sixth and felt like that might have been the best we would achieve until I noticed the riders in front struggling a little. I dug in as deep as I could and gave it absolutely everything, caught them and passed them both in one lap. I had to deliver the best three laps of my life to hold that fourth position. The result means a lot to me and to the team. We’re coming.
Oulton Park was a positive weekend for Honda Racing UK. The results themselves improved, more significantly, the manner in which those results were achieved demonstrated that both riders and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP are becoming increasingly capable of competing within the leading group.
The direction is increasingly clear and the team leaves Oulton Park with its strongest collective race performance of the season.
The team will now look to continue that momentum when the ZYN British Superbike Championship heads to Thruxton for round seven on 14–16 August.
